Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.- The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
- The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
- The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
- The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
Research Articles
Research Articles section of Botanical Drug publishes original, high-quality research that advances our understanding of botanical drug. Submissions should demonstrate innovative discoveries in areas such as bioactive compound discovery, pharmacological mechanisms, multi-omics analysis, clinical evaluation, or novel formulations and delivery systems. All manuscripts must provide clear experimental designs, reproducible methods, and evidence-based conclusions. Articles will undergo peer review to ensure scientific integrity and global relevance. Priority will be given to studies that demonstrate translational value, interdisciplinary approaches, or contributions to regulatory science and therapeutic innovation in botanical drug research.
Review Articles
The Review Articles section of Botanical Drug features comprehensive and critical analyses of recent advances in botanical drug research. Submissions should synthesize current knowledge, identify research gaps, and propose future directions in areas such as phytochemistry, pharmacology, systems biology, clinical applications, and global regulatory development. Reviews must be well-structured, evidence-based, and supported by extensive references. Both narrative and systematic reviews are welcome. Articles are evaluated through peer review for scientific rigor, originality, and clarity. Priority is given to reviews offering integrative perspectives or highlighting translational and interdisciplinary progress in botanical drug development.
